Glass Availability, Plastic price increases.

As most of you know the supply chain has been disrupted and we have seen shortages for most items.  The maple syrup supply chain is experiencing the same.  Glass has been difficult to get during the summer and Roth Sugar Bush has been very good about keeping up with supplies as best they can given the availability

I would strongly suggest that you purchase your glass supply for the 2022 maple season early.  Shortages and the ability to acquire selected glass containers during and after the season may be problematic.

The prices of anything plastic has increased substantially this past year.  Blue sap bags are now .50 each!  Poly tanks have gone up 75% in some sizes. I do not know of any maple supply

item that has not had some sort of price increase.   I thought it best to let people know prior to the season so they can plan.   Right now I have a good inventory of most items, call me for your supply needs or visit my on line store.

Thanks,

Don

Spring Equipment Sale now through June 1

The CDL equipment sale is on!!  10 percent off most all equipment that CDL manufactures.  Call me for prices on new equipment and possible trade in.

This is the time to upgrade, and save on evaporators, Reverse Osmosis, Bottlers, pre-heaters, pans, custom pans and filter presses.

Some glass remains difficult to get so like last season, I would recommend getting your glass needs during the summer and early fall.

I finally have extra caps for reusing your returned glass.

Be Safe

Season Ends and Cleanup

I was hoping for a final sap run with the cold temperatures last week, but it was not to be.  Sap sugar content dropped below 1.8 percent and it was foaming badly in the pans so we called it over with last Wednesday.  We had a below average season making about 440 gallons of syrup from 2200 taps, primarily because sugar content was about 1 percent lower on average than last year.

Cleanup up went well and now we are in the bottling mode.  Some glass is still hard to get, 12 oz in particular. I am completely sold out of 12 oz and getting low on 8 oz

I hope everyone had a great season and if you are thinking of trading or upgrading equipment, now is the time to firm up your plans.  The Spring equipment sale begins May 1st.

Cheers,
Don
